Life Changing Experiences

Nidhi | Age : 14 Years

Nidhi’s life started with a terrible accident. When she was delivered, the doctor dropped her from the operation table on the floor where she hit her head badly causing irreversible damage. In spite of intensive medication and therapy, there wasn't much recovery in Nidhi’s health. For many years she wasn't even able to stand on her own. Her mother came to know about BPA and Swabhimaan from her neighbours and she approached for help. Nidhi was given leg calipers and after many physio sessions and efforts, she can walk by herself

Arav | Age : 10 Years

Born as twins, Arav had a reverse flow of the amniotic fluids due to which he had hypoglycaemia which resulted in his brain damage. Initially, his parents got to know that his left portion of the brain was damaged which affected his right parts of the body. They met many doctors to find a way in which they could bring Arav's life back to normal but his condition worsened by each day. Later even his right portion of the brain got affected and was paralysed. The parents now knew that whatever they do, his condition could not be changed. They focused their efforts to provide some lind of normalcy in his life by trying to make him sit erect and keep his head up to see the world around. This was done by the CP chair given to him from Blind People's Association and Swabhimaan. Now not only does he sits straight and manages to bring his head up, but he is also curious and tries to explore the world around him.

Komal | Age : 12 Years

When Komal was 6 months old, she got a high fever and got fits after which she was admitted to hospital for nearly a month. When she was close to 2 years, her parents realised that she had lost her hearing due to medical treatment. Till the age of 10, she never was able to utter a single word nor was able to understand. Her dad then got to know about Blind Peoples Association and Swabhimaan and applied for her Hearing aids. Now it's more than a year, with the help of the hearing aid and speech therapy, she has now started to call out to people, recognise sounds and respond to her friends and family.

Devyani | Age : 20 Years

Devyani was 100% deaf and mute by birth. She was the eldest daughter in her family and her parents always worried about her future. She was a bright girl, but due to financial conditions, she could only study till 8th grade. Devyani was always passionate about learning new things and wanted to do something for herself and help her family too. She then took training for becoming a beautician from Blind People's Association after which she wished to start her own beauty parlour business. She approached Swabhimaan and applied for a beauty parlour kit that would have all the essentials of starting her new venture. Her application was approved after which there was no looking back...
