All persons with all types of disabilities will get access to individual need based services as a matter of right, will have good quality of life and will be an indivisible element of their communities and the nation.
To provide appropriate education, intervention, training and advocacy which will lead to awareness, empowerment and employment of people with disabilities with the help and support of trained staff and caregivers and to take measures for prevention, cure and mitigation of disabling conditions. All these measures will be undertaken with the cooperation of families, communities and other stakeholders.
A group of people with visual impairment got together in 1954 and decided to start a Recreation Club for the Blind. This small club is now a large multi-faceted agency providing a wide gamut of services-from prevention, education, counselling, rehabilitation to employment and self sustaining with outstanding dignity. BPA believes in rights of people with disabilities and involves all stakeholders in programme planning. BPA India works incessantly for ensuring that people with disabilities are included in their communities. Today, BPA India is one of the largest organizations in Asia working with and for all categories of disabilities.
